Mail-In Voting
Procedures
If you will not be at your registered address during this year's election, or would like to vote a mail-in ballot, you need to complete a Mail-in Ballot Application (
English /
Spanish). Active military personnel stationed overseas may obtain a mail-in ballot for a primary election (major party affiliations only) and/or general election by completing a
Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). To learn, please visit our
military and overseas voter information section. You may submit your application in person, by mail or fax to our office:
Adams County Election Office
4430 S. Adams County Pkwy.
Brighton, CO 80601
Fx: 720.523.6266
Note: Parents cannot complete an application for children who are registered voters, nor can a spouse complete an application for his or her spouse. Each application for mail-in ballot must be signed by the applicant.
Requesting Mail-In Ballots
A request for a mail-in ballot made by letter must contain the following information (allowed under
Colorado Revised Statute (CRS) 1-8-104(1)):
- Mailing address to send your ballot if different from your residential address
- Your date of birth
- Your printed name
- Your residential address
- Your signature
Note: If this information is not provided, you may not receive a mail-in ballot according to the rules established by the Secretary of State (allowed under
CRS 1-8-104(6)).
Permanent Mail-In Voter Status
You may also apply for permanent mail-in voter status. The application for permanent mail-in voter status can be submitted in writing or by fax, using a form furnished by the county clerk or in the form of a letter. The application must contain the same information (listed above) that would be submitted with a normal mail-in ballot request and indicate you wish to become a permanent mail-in voter (allowed under
CRS 1-8-104.5).
